Fishing on Long Island
Long Island is one the richest fishing grounds in the world for salt-water fish. On the South Shore you have the choice of surfcasting or charter fishing boats from multiple points. Charter boats are located around the inlets to the ocean, the South Fork of the island and the North Fork of the island. The South Fork is known for the charters for big ocean fish. As you travel around Long Island you'll notice the island is dotted with fishermen, people combing for mussels and clammers, wherever salt water is found.
